Construction Contract for Rehabilitation of District’s Water Plant

The District recently awarded a construction contract for the rehabilitation of the District’s Water plant. The project generally includes the recoating of the interior and exterior of two ground storage tanks and hydro-pneumatic tanks. It is expected that the Contractor will begin work in February and is expected to complete the work in June 2018. We do not anticipate that this project will impact the District’s ability to deliver water to its customers.

Chromium 6 Water Test Results

The District is aware of recent news reports related to high concentrations of chromium 6 in drinking water in different parts of the Country. The District’s water is regularly tested for chemicals which might be hazardous to health, such as chromium 6. In response to concerns over recent news reports the Board recently had the District’s water tested for chromium 6. The results revealed that the levels of chromium 6 in the District’s water are extremely low and well below all applicable standards.
