NFBWA: Fee Rate Increase

The North Fort Bend Water Authority (“NFBWA”) is a governmental entity charged with reducing the use of groundwater within its boundaries, which includes Big Oaks MUD. NFBWA sets a fee paid by all users of Big Oaks MUD, which increased to $4.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used effective January 1, 2019. Big Oaks MUD has no control over this fee. For more on the NFBWA, see www.NFBWA.com.

Construction Contract for Rehabilitation of District’s Water Plant

The District recently awarded a construction contract for the rehabilitation of the District’s Water plant. The project generally includes the recoating of the interior and exterior of two ground storage tanks and hydro-pneumatic tanks. It is expected that the Contractor will begin work in February and is expected to complete the work in June 2018. We do not anticipate that this project will impact the District’s ability to deliver water to its customers.
